Terms of Service

Effective date: 28 September 2026
Last updated: 28 September 2026
Service: Lexdum
Website: lexdum.com
Contact: [email protected]

These Terms of Service (the Terms) govern your access to and use of Lexdum's websites, applications, APIs, AI-assisted legal research, document tools, subscriptions, workspaces and related services (together, the Service). In these Terms, Lexdum, we, us and our refer to the operator of the Lexdum Service in India; you refers to the individual or organisation using the Service.

1. Acceptance

By creating an account, purchasing a subscription, clicking an acceptance control, or otherwise using the Service where acceptance is legally effective, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Electronic acceptance, account creation, payment and continued use may constitute electronic records and evidence of assent under applicable Indian law.

2. Eligibility

You must have legal capacity to enter into a contract, provide accurate information, protect your credentials, comply with applicable law and use the Service only for lawful purposes. A person below the applicable age of majority may use the Service only where legally valid authorisation has been obtained from a parent, guardian or institution.

3. Organisations and administrators

If you use Lexdum for a law firm, company, chambers, university, government body or other organisation, you represent that you have authority to act for it where you accept these Terms on its behalf. Organisation administrators may manage users, permissions, billing and workspace settings. The organisation is responsible for having the necessary authority to provide information to Lexdum. A separate written enterprise agreement prevails to the extent of any conflict.

4. The Service

Depending on your plan, Lexdum may provide legal research, statute and case-law discovery, document ingestion and analysis, drafting assistance, citation and source discovery, AI-assisted analysis, summarisation, knowledge management, storage, collaboration, APIs and integrations. Features may be changed, restricted, suspended, deprecated or discontinued.

5. Legal information and AI disclaimer

Lexdum is a legal-technology and information service. Lexdum is not a law firm, advocate, solicitor, court, government authority or substitute for independent legal advice. Use of the Service does not create an advocate-client, solicitor-client, fiduciary, agency, partnership or employment relationship with Lexdum.

AI systems can produce incorrect, incomplete or outdated statements; misunderstand facts; omit exceptions; misstate provisions; generate inaccurate citations; or confuse authorities. You must independently verify legal propositions, citations, quotations, procedural requirements, limitation periods, amendments, rules and notifications before relying on an output or using it in a filing.

Lexdum does not guarantee a litigation result, acceptance of a filing, regulatory approval, enforceability of a generated document or accuracy of a prediction.

6. Your responsibility for legal work

You remain responsible for reviewing outputs, checking primary sources and current law, selecting the correct jurisdiction, verifying facts, obtaining professional advice, meeting court and regulator requirements, preserving evidence and ensuring that documents are properly signed, stamped, notarised, registered or filed.

Do not present a Lexdum output as an official order, notification, statutory text, legal opinion or professional representation unless you have independently verified the underlying source.

7. Accounts and security

You are responsible for keeping account credentials confidential, preventing unauthorised access and notifying us promptly of suspected compromise. Do not share an individual account unless your plan permits it. We may suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect users, the Service, third parties or legal compliance.

8. User Content

User Content includes prompts, documents, PDFs, images, datasets, notes, case files, legal research material and other content submitted or generated through your use of the Service. You retain ownership of User Content to the extent you own it.

You grant Lexdum the limited rights reasonably necessary to host, process, transmit, index, extract, analyse and store User Content; provide requested features; maintain security and reliability; comply with law; and enforce these Terms. Lexdum does not acquire ownership merely because content is uploaded.

You represent that you have the rights, permissions and lawful authority required to submit User Content. Do not upload confidential, privileged, personal, copyrighted, classified or regulated material unless you are authorised and the processing is lawful.

If you upload client files or confidential legal material, you are responsible for deciding whether use of a technology provider is permitted under your professional, contractual, regulatory and confidentiality obligations. Lexdum does not determine whether an upload is protected by legal professional privilege.

9. AI training and model improvement

Lexdum will not use private User Content to train a general-purpose model for unrelated users unless you expressly opt in through a clear mechanism, the use is separately disclosed, and applicable legal requirements are satisfied. We may use de-identified operational metrics and feedback to improve reliability where doing so is lawful and does not expose private User Content.

10. Acceptable use

You must not use the Service to:

  • violate law, court orders or third-party rights;
  • impersonate another person or misrepresent authority;
  • upload material you are not authorised to process;
  • create malware, facilitate unauthorised access or interfere with systems;
  • bypass security, rate limits, access controls or plan restrictions;
  • scrape or extract the Service at unreasonable scale;
  • reverse engineer protected components except where law expressly permits;
  • generate deceptive filings, fabricated authorities or fraudulent evidence;
  • harass, exploit or unlawfully profile people; or
  • use outputs as professional advice without appropriate human review.

We may investigate and restrict activity reasonably believed to breach these Terms.

11. Lexdum intellectual property

The Service, software, interface, workflows, designs, branding, databases and original content are owned by or licensed to Lexdum and protected by applicable law. Except for the limited right to use the Service under these Terms, no rights are transferred to you. Third-party legal materials remain subject to their own rights and terms.

If you provide feedback, you permit Lexdum to use it without restriction or payment, provided that doing so does not disclose confidential User Content.

12. Copyright complaints

If you believe content available through the Service infringes your rights, email [email protected] with your identity, the protected work, the material complained of, its location, your basis for the complaint and a statement that the information is accurate. We may remove or restrict material while reviewing a complaint.

13. Third-party sources and services

The Service may link to courts, government portals, legal databases, authentication providers, payment processors, cloud services, AI providers and other third parties. Their content and availability are outside Lexdum's control and may be subject to separate terms. A link or integration does not imply endorsement. You are responsible for complying with third-party terms that apply to your use.

14. Availability and changes

We aim to provide a reliable Service but do not promise uninterrupted operation. Maintenance, security incidents, provider outages, legal restrictions and technical failures may affect availability. We may modify features or limits and will give appropriate notice of material changes where required.

15. Subscriptions, fees and payments

Paid features require the displayed subscription fee. Prices, plan duration, included features, taxes and renewal terms are shown before checkout. Payments may be processed by Razorpay or another authorised payment provider; Lexdum does not ordinarily store full card or banking credentials.

You authorise the selected payment provider to process the transaction. You are responsible for applicable taxes and accurate billing information. Failed, reversed or disputed payments may result in restricted access. Expired subscribers may retain access to existing conversations where the product currently permits it, while creation of new paid work may be restricted.

16. Trials and promotions

Trials, credits and promotions may have separate eligibility, duration and feature limits. They may not be transferred or combined unless expressly stated. We may prevent abuse of trial or promotional access.

17. Cancellations and refunds

Cancellation stops future renewal where recurring billing applies. Access already purchased continues for the stated plan period unless suspended for breach. Refunds are provided where required by law or expressly stated at purchase. Unless law requires otherwise, fees for an activated subscription period are non-refundable. Contact [email protected] for billing assistance.

18. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for material breach, unlawful activity, security risk, non-payment, misuse, legal requirement or discontinuation of the Service. Where appropriate, we will provide notice and a reasonable opportunity to remedy the issue.

19. Data after termination

Access to User Content may end when an account closes. Retention and deletion follow our Privacy Policy, applicable law and any enterprise agreement. Export important material before termination where an export feature is available.

20. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided on an “as available” basis. We do not warrant that every result, source, citation or generated document will be complete, current, error-free or suitable for a particular matter. Mandatory statutory warranties and consumer rights are not excluded where they cannot lawfully be excluded.

21. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Lexdum will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive losses, or loss of profits, revenue, opportunity, goodwill or data, arising from use of or inability to use the Service.

Subject to non-excludable liability, Lexdum's aggregate liability arising from the Service will not exceed the amount actually paid by the affected user to Lexdum during the six months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. This limitation does not apply where liability cannot lawfully be limited, including applicable liability for fraud or wilful misconduct.

22. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify Lexdum and its personnel against third-party claims arising from your unlawful use, breach of these Terms, infringement of third-party rights, submission of User Content without authority or violation of law. This does not apply to the extent a claim was caused by Lexdum's unlawful conduct.

23. Force majeure

Lexdum is not responsible for delay or failure caused by events beyond reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, civil unrest, government action, court orders, telecommunications or cloud outages, widespread cyber incidents, utility failures, epidemics, strikes and failures of third-party providers, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

24. Disputes

The parties should first attempt to resolve disputes through good-faith written communication to [email protected]. Nothing in these Terms removes mandatory rights or remedies under Indian consumer-protection law.

25. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to mandatory statutory jurisdiction, disputes may be brought before a court of competent jurisdiction in India.

26. Electronic communications

You consent to receive operational communications electronically, including account, security, service and billing notices. Marketing communications will be sent only where permitted and may be unsubscribed from through the method provided.

27. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect legal, product, security or business changes. Material changes will be communicated through reasonable notice where required. The effective date above identifies the current version. Continued use after an effective update constitutes acceptance where legally permitted.

28. Severability and waiver

If a provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of the right to enforce it later.

29. Assignment

You may not assign these Terms without our written consent. Lexdum may assign them as part of a merger, restructuring, financing or transfer of the Service, subject to applicable law.

30. Entire agreement

These Terms, the Privacy Policy, any plan-specific terms and any written enterprise agreement form the agreement concerning the Service and supersede prior discussions about the same subject.
